“Even if it means oblivion, friends, I’ll welcome it, because it won’t be nothing. We’ll be alive again in a thousand blades of grass, and a million leaves; we’ll be falling in the raindrops and blowing in the fresh breeze; we’ll be glittering in the dew under the stars and the moon out there in the physical world, which is our true home and always was.”

– The Amber Spyglass, Philip Pullman

Welcome to in a thousand blades of grass, a website presenting the written work of Emma Aveston.

The website is named after the above quote from His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman, some of the most poignant and thought-provoking novels I have ever read. If you’ve never picked them up, I highly encourage you to do so.

On this site you will find all genres and styles of writing, from short stories to short screenplays. My blog will also give sneak peaks and previews into my larger projects, specifically my novel Her Sweet Graffiti Monster and feature-length screenplay Goldilocks.

Please do not take anything from this website without permission or distribute it under another name. However, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss or share anything.

Happy browsing.
